During Chicago summers you should be prepared to sweat a little... or a lot! Earlier this summer I knew I'd need some tank tops to keep cool. The shared experience of living in a city with so many quirks, histories, and unique and diverse neighborhoods bring us together in sometimes surprising ways. Despite the many challenges Chicago faces, when the city rises together from the ground up it is a beautiful sight. Today we're sharing about our good friends at Arise Creations, which teaches teenage girls professional and entrepreneurial skills through crafting beautiful, handmade jewelry.

We've been married for 6 and a half months.  Some people would probably say we're still in the honeymoon phase... where things are still new and exciting and easy, and to be honest we kind of are. However, we've quickly realized the importance of continuing to find new ways to pursue one another as time goes on...

When we first created the Everyday Urban blog and Instagram account we had no idea where it would take us, and still have no idea, but even in its infancy state we have been SO pleasantly surprised by all the connections and budding friendship that have started through this creative endeavor together!
