It is safe to say, 2016 is the year of the Bomber Jacket. You can find one on the rack at pretty much every store, menswear blogs and magazine cover this fall. And for good reason! It meshes together a classic, athletic vibe, while maintaining a stylish and tailored look. Being THE jacket of the season (and many to come) there are seemingly limitless options on the market. After a long search, I landed on this blue bomber from H&M (who have 10-15 different bombers in their current collection alone).
The bronze zipper detail on the left sleeve adds just the right amount of edge to this minimalist jacket.
A little extra layering on the inside was the final factor that drew me to this particular bomber, which will lend it to lasting later into the fall and early winter. While the temperature is still moderate here in early November (it was 70 this weekend in Chicago!) and since this jacket is shorter, I like to pair my bomber with a longer tee and jeans or joggers.
In terms of sizing, I ended up going with a Medium in this jacket. I am 6'1" around 175 with fairly broad shoulders compared to the average bear. The large did offer a little more wiggle room when crossing my arms, but for me it looked too bulky everywhere else.
We hope that everyone enjoyed the extra hour of sleep tonight! After all of the festivities throughout this week and following the Cubs World Series victory, the time change couldn't have come at a better time for us and the sleepy city of Chicago.
